Employment services for adults
Labor Service Center (TYP)
We will look for ways for you to improve your life-management and labor-market skills. We will analyze whether you need training or rehabilitation and solve problems with your life situation, such as problems with housing or finances. In addition, we will chart your state of health and refer you to additional examinations or treatment, if required. We will also make retirement evaluations for you.
We offer you the services of the following experts, all under the same roof: labor administration, social work, health care, and Kela (The Social Insurance Institution of Finland). In addition, you will be given a designated employee whom you can always contact!
You can become a customer of TYP by acquiring a referral from a TE Office or social services office. An invitation informing you of the beginning of the service will be mailed to your home address. In order to begin the customer relationship, you need to sign a written consent, since becoming a customer of TYP is voluntary. The first meeting can be a group information event that presents TYP's operations and agrees on further meetings.

Back to working life through work activities
Work activities will help you practice coping with working life. Participating in work activities means that you will be working on 1-4 days a week for 4-8 hours per day.
In addition to unemployment security or social assistance, you will be given a compensation of €9 for each day you participate in work activities. We will remunerate for you travel costs according to public transportation's 30-day travel card. Furthermore, we will offer you an accident insurance that covers the duration of work activities.
You can also begin rehabilitative work activities in a start-up team that meets 1-2 times a week for 4 hours a day during a three-month period. As a customer, you can influence the contents of the team days. A snack will be offered during the team days.
Employment Services' social advisor will support both the customer and the work-activity place during the work-activity period.
