Welcome to Vantaa City Museum!

Our History - Our Story - from Helsinge to Vantaa tells the tale of the City of Vantaa. For centuries, the city of Vantaa area went by the name of Helsinge and covered a much larger area it does today. The reflect this, the exhibition stretches beyond the boundaries of present day Vantaa into its neighbouring municipalities.

Our Story begins thousands of years ago, unfolding through the centuries into the 1970s. The action is set in river valleys, forests and the area´s islanddotted coast. The main characters are the residents themselves, with a key supporting performance by King Gustav Vasa of Sweden.
