Centralised booking of appointments, changes of appointments and cancellations Mon-Thu 7.30 am - 3 pm and Fri and the days before public holidays 7.30 am - 2 pm.
Due to the large number of customers there is a dental waiting list for non-urgent patients, and patients coming in for check-ups.
The waiting list is at 6011 customers (as of 5 August 2011). We are now contacting customers who have entered the waiting list in January 2011.

Out-of-hours emergency dental care: Mon-Fri 4 pm - 9 pm at the Haartman Hospital (Haartmaninkatu 4, 00290 Helsinki). Prior to coming in for treatment please call tel. (09) 310 49999 (weekdays from 2 pm to 9 pm).
Emergency dental care on weekends and public holidays: 9 am - 9 pm at the Haartman Hospital Emergency Dental Clinc. You can book an appointment from 8 am tel. (09) 310 49999. Patients are asked to contact the hospital before coming in for treatment, so that the urgency of care can be determined. You can call the above number on weekends and public holidays from 8 am to 9 pm.

There is a standard charge for every dental procedure. The charges are based on the decree on social and health care charges. The charges are listed on the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health website (in Finnish).

Dental treatment is free of charge for people aged 0-17 and for the mentally handicapped. If an appointment is not duly cancelled, a fine of 33,90 euros will be charged from those aged 15 and over for an unused appointment.
Dental check-ups for young children are when the child is aged 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3½ years and 5½ years. If necessary, the check-ups may be more frequent. Parents must take care of booking the appointments themselves.
Schoolchildren are called for dental check-ups during classes 1, 3, 5, 7 and 8-9. If necessary, the check-ups may be more frequent.
Everyone studying in an upper secondary or vocational school (toisen asteen oppilaitos) in Vantaa is entitled to a dental check-up once during their studies, regardless of their home municipality. Students are not called in for the check-ups but must take care of booking the appointment themselves through the centralised booking of appointments.
