The telephone health advice service is available 24 hours a day at 09-10023, answering healthcare questions and offering advice on obtaining further treatment. This is a joint service between several municipalities in the capital region and the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa (HUS).

During weekends and holidays, emergency duty services are provided by designated healthcare centres and the hospital's specialist emergency departments. The emergency duty services provide the whole of Vantaa with emergency services 24 hours a day, and also to the people in Kerava, southern Tuusula and Myras in Sipoo during the night. The Peijas emergency room is intended for those with sudden and serious illnesses, needing immediate treatment. If you are not sure what to do, phone the telephone health advice service on (09) 10023. Emergency patients are accepted without a referral upon arrival.

During weekdays, health centres handle local urgent cases between 8 am and 4 pm. However, in urgent first-aid cases it is possible to go to Peijas health centre at any hour of the day if your local health centre is closed or too busy. Vantaa's health centres and designated health centres on emergency duty treat both adult and child patients.
Patients in the Peijas emergency duty service are categorised into groups; A, B, C, D and E in triage according to a specific procedure. Patients are therefore not treated on a first come, first served basis. Writing doctor's certificates for employers has been delegated to nurses wherever possible. Starting from 1 April 2010, all residents from Helsinki/Espoo/Vantaa/Kauniainen with acute need for medical attention can also seek emergency care from the Helsinki or Espoo. Emergency Health Centres on weekdays between 4 pm and 8 am and 24 hours/day during weekends and public holidays.

We help you get over the acute crisis as well as arrange further measures.
Social and Crisis Emergency Centre is responsible for administrative functions outside office hours, such as child welfare. We also arrange psychosocial support in case of accidents and disasters.
