Preliminary Medical Examination for Males at Call-up Age

According to the Conscription Act, a preliminary medical examination is mandatory for all male Finnish citizens before the call-ups.

Students of Educational Institutions in Vantaa

All call-up-aged male students studying in Vantaa are examined at their own educational institutions. The student health nurses invite the students to preliminary medical examination and then make doctor’s appointments for them. The medical examinations conducted by doctors also take place at the students' own educational institutions.

Vantaa Residents Studying Elsewhere

Vantaa residents who study elsewhere should make an appointment for the medical examination at their own health center. Their own health center team’s public health nurse will conduct the medical examination. After that, the public health nurse makes a doctor’s appointment for them. The customer can also make the appointment through the appointment service.

Non-student Residents

Call-up-aged Vantaa residents who are not studying or enrolled at a school should make an appointment for the medical examination at their own health center. Their own health center team’s public health nurse will conduct the medical examination. After that, the public health nurse makes a doctor’s appointment for them. The customer can also make the appointment through the appointment service.
