There are three different housing units for substance-abuse rehabilitees:

Koisoranta Service Center

The service center is meant for the homeless with addiction problems.

Under the roof of Koisoranta, you will find the following:

  • Housing on-call service,
  • Arvi housing units and
  • Koisokoti housing units

Housing on-call service available around the clock

Who is the housing on-call service meant for?

Homeless men and women with addiction problems. The on-call service provides temporary and safe accommodation for the night.

How can I get the service?

You can come to the on-call service from 12:00 to 24:00; no referral required. If you are intoxicated, you can come as of 16:00.

There are 20 places, and they are filled in in the order of arrival.

What does housing on-call service entail?

The employees, together with the customer, will assess the need for treatment and rehabilitation, and help find a treatment place or further accommodation.

What else should I know?

Breakfast and evening snack are free of charge, whereas lunch and afternoon coffee are subject to charge. You may not bring intoxicants or edged weapons to the premises. Your belongings will be checked upon arrival. The housing on-call service is free of charge.

Arvi housing units

Who are the services meant for?
Homeless substance-abuse rehabilitees who commit themselves to substance-free housing. Both men and women live in Arvi.

What does living in Arvi entail?
As a customer, you can ponder on your substance abuse. We will analyze your housing and life situation and find an option for further housing. The customers stay in Arvi for approximately 1-4 months.

How do I apply?
Call the chief social advisor and make an appointment for an interview. In addition, fill in the application for Rehabilitation Housing Services.

What else should I know?
The service is chargeable. The social worker will help you apply the social services office for remuneration of fees.

Koisokoti housing units

Who are the services meant for?
Koisokoti housing units are meant for customers who are repeatedly homeless. Koisokoti housing units offer solid support for sobriety, housing, and life management.

What does living in Koisokoti entail?
No substances are allowed in Koisokoti. A multiprofessional team helps the customer. Customers stay in Koisokoti for approximately 4 months-2 years.

How do I apply?
Fill in the application for Rehabilitation Housing Services. Make an appointment for an interview with the chief social advisor.

What else should I know?
The service is chargeable. The customers are responsible for their own meals, or they can have their meals at the service center for a charge.

Day center

The day center is a place that supports sobriety, provides the customers with peer support, and encourages them to join community activities. The center is available to all the occupants.

Oraskoti is a small community that provides substance-free and community-oriented housing to customers that have not used any substances for a while.

Pähkinärinne Housing Service Unit

Who is the service meant for?
The long-term homeless that need long-term support due to mental-health/addiction problems.

What does living in Pähkinärinne entail?
The aim is to secure housing, support abstinence from intoxicants, and boost functional abilities. The customers have a designated advisor of their own.

How do I apply?
Fill in the housing application.

What else should I know?
There are 33 housing units. Living there is based on a lease and housing-service decision. New occupants will be selected, when housing units become available.
