Theater Arts

The basic education in theater arts aims to provide the students with wide knowledge of theater as a performing art. The students get age-appropriate experience in making theater and being on the stage, and they also learn different means of expression. Performances are an essential part of the education.

Theatre and Circus School of Tikkurila provides education according to the curriculum for the advanced syllabus. Teaching is primarily intended for 7–18-year-olds. The students learn basic skills through play and improvisation. Performances are emphasized later in the education. The aim of the teaching is to support personal development and encourage students to artistic and creative thinking. Group activities develop cooperation skills and self-knowledge. The application period for the fall groups is April 1 - June 6. The study units are situated in different districts in Vantaa. The school also arranges short courses during school holidays.

Circus Arts

The basic education in circus arts gives an overview of the circus tradition and its different forms. The teaching emphasizes technique and the importance of regular, independent training. The aim of the teaching is to help the students find the subject that interests them the most and help them to develop their skills.

Theatre and Circus School of Tikkurila provides safe environment for learning in a fun way. Studying circus arts consists of independent training and learning through experimentation and practice. The teaching includes acrobatics, juggling, balancing, and aerial acrobatics. Additionally, the students learn presentation skills and body control. As the studies advance, the studying becomes more individual when students specialize in their own subjects.
