Library grannies and grandpas

Libraries provide voluntary library grannies and grandpas who keep the children company, talk with them, play with them, and read together with them.

The idea for these activities came from library employees wanting to develop more activities for the numerous children visiting the library and who often long for the company of adults. The library employees remain responsible for ensuring general order and they will always be there to help whenever needed.

Libraries could accommodate for more grannies and grandpas; if you are interest in volunteer work, contact your local library.
