Pähkinärinne youth center and library outlet will open in January
Pähkinärinne youth center and libray outlet will open on Wednesday, January 10, at 13:00, on joint premises on Mantelikuja.
The self-service library will be open from Monday to Friday, from 7:00 to 12:00. The youth center will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 13:00 to 20:30 and on Fridays from 15:00 to 22:30. The address is Mantelikuja 4, 01710 Vantaa.
During the self-service hours, you can borrow and return material, pick up reservations, and read newspapers and magazines. Other neighborhood libraries offer customer computers, printers, or photocopiers. During the self-service hours, you can access the premises with your library card and PIN, which you also use when borrowing material.
During the opening hours of the youth center, library employees will be on the premises. The aim is that on Tuesdays and Thursdays activities will be arranged together with day-care groups, schools and other communities. The youth center offers versatile and instructive activities for 10—18-year-olds. On offer will be traditional billiards, table tennis, game consoles and board games. Various kind of club activities—for example, cooking clubs—will be arranged every week. Employees on the premises also include youth-work professionals who will help and support the young as regards any issues they are concerned about.
Pähkinärinne school's after-school club will act on the premises on weekdays from 12:00 to 17:00. In the evenings, the after-school club premises will be used by the youth center.
The city wishes to use the renewed premises to test how they will function as the local residents’ joint premises where leisure activities are provided. The premises have been closed due to renovation of the indoor premises. Structures and furnishings were renovated. The city welcomes the residents’ feedback on the functioning of the new premises and service.
