The local government pilot on employment in Vantaa and Kerava

Your job search always begins through the TE Office by registering as a jobseeker in the E-services (available only in Finnish and Swedish). If you belong to the target group of the local government pilot, the TE Office will direct you to the pilot’s services.

The clients of the local government pilot are unemployed jobseekers living in the pilot area who are not entitled to earnings-related unemployment benefit, as well as almost all under jobseekers under the age of 30 and almost all jobseekers whose mother tongue is not Finnish or Swedish.

As a client of the local government pilot, you will receive a personal coach who knows your situation best and guides you to services.

The service selection does not focus narrowly on services that lead directly to employment but also considers other areas of life that support work ability and employment.

 

The pilot does not bring any additional obligations for the client. The statutory obligations of an unemployed jobseeker are the same for clients of the TE Office and of the pilot.

All clients of the local government pilot will be informed of the client relationship in person. Before your client relationship is transferred from the TE Office to the municipality, you will be contacted by both the TE Office and your municipality.

If you have been informed of a transfer to the Vantaa and Kerava employment services, you can wait for your personal coach to contact you.

Ohjaamo’s advisory services are open to everyone under the age of 30, regardless of whether they are a jobseeker or not. Ohjaamo can also help you in housing and financial issues, for example.

 

The Vantaa Service Point is located next to the railway station at Vernissakatu 1, and the Kerava Service Point is located in the Kauppalantalo building at Aleksis Kiven tie 4. The advisory services of the Vantaa and Kerava Ohjaamo centres are open to everyone under the age of 30.

Because the local government pilot in Vantaa and Kerava is a joint project, clients from Kerava can also use the relevant services in Vantaa and Vantaa residents can use the services in Kerava. Please note that you cannot use the services in other pilot areas.

 

A client relationship that started in the local government pilot will continue throughout the pilot until 31 December 2024, even if the client no longer belongs to any target group defined in the Act on local government pilots to promote employment.

If you do not belong to any of the target groups of the pilot, you will continue to receive services at the TE Office.

If your services would be transferred to a monolingual (Finnish-speaking) pilot municipality but you want to receive services in Swedish, you can choose to remain a client of the TE Office. Residents of the municipality may also remain clients of the TE Office if their unemployment is short-term and its end date is known in advance.

If you move to a municipality that is not participating in the local government pilots on employment, your client relationship will be transferred back to the TE Office. Otherwise, you will become a client of the pilot in your new municipality of residence.
