Vantaa’s financial statement shows a surplus of €47.7 million – a healthy economy will promote urban development
The finances of the City of Vantaa are in surplus, even though the development and views of the Finnish economy weakened considerably during 2023. Vantaa has made significant investments and is amortizing its loans over the long term.
Vote on participatory budgeting ideas by April 28
All Vantaa residents aged 13 and over are entitled to vote on participatory budgeting ideas. The ideas that gain the most votes will be implemented in 2024-2025.

Vantaa City Council approved Vantaa’s very first physical activity program in its meeting on February 26. The program also encouraged the city councilors to engage in gymnastic exercises during a pause in the meeting. The sporty meeting also ratified the local detailed plans for Kivistö event arena
New career coaching service helps immigrants find jobs and plan their careers
The City of Vantaa has launched Get Work, a project to provide immigrants with one-to-one career coaching in English. Laurea and Metropolia are co-implementing the project. The project will run until 2025.
