Nature reserves that maintain biodiversity throughout the city are an integral part of Vantaa's green network.

Vantaa has over 1,000 hectares of nature reserves protected under the Nature Conservation Act. The size of the protected areas varies from a few ares to hundreds of hectares. The protected areas are also important for education and research purposes.

Vantaa aims to preserve the natural environment and natural values typical of each protected area, to maintain their typical flora and f
