Public Transportation Discounts
HSL Pensioner Fares
Pensioners traveling with a personal HSL (Helsinki Region Transport) Travel Card are entitled to a discount under certain conditions. The discount applies to season and value tickets.
You are entitled to the discount if
You receive national pension from Kela (the Social Insurance Institution of Finland) and do not receive guarantee pension. The discount is 25 % (discount group 1).
You receive full or reduced guarantee pension. The discount is 50 % (discount group 2).
The information regarding your discount entitlement will be saved on your Travel Card at Vantaa Info.
To get the entitlement, you need to visit Vantaa Info and present your personal Travel Card and an official identity card with a photo. You also need to present a certificate from Kela, which clearly states that you are receiving "reduced national pension" or "full national pension". You can visit Vantaa Info and get a pre-filled certificate which you can take to Kela with you.
The discount entitlement is valid for a maximum of three years. It is your own responsibility to update the discount entitlement within the card's period of validity. If you do not update the entitlement in time, you will be charged for the full ticket price. Each time you update the discount entitlement, you need to present the same documents as on your first visit.

Service routes (or neighborhood routes) have been tailored for people with special needs, but they can also be used by other passengers. You can travel on the routes with Vantaa internal tickets (within the Vantaa area) and regional tickets.
The routes are operated with low-floor minibuses. There is no hurry on these routes and the driver will help the passengers to get in and out of the bus with their luggage.
The service routes will take you easily to local services right from your neighborhood. In addition to designated bus stops, passengers can get on and off the bus elsewhere on the route. The timetables may include small route changes.
Service routes operate on weekdays and usually each route operates only on certain weekdays as per the timetables.
