Tikkurila Festival 2018 is here – changes in traffic

Tikkurila Festival is back at Hiekkaharju Sports Arena July 20th – 21st. Because of the event, there will be some exceptions in public transport and traffic.

Organized for the fifth time, Tikkurila Festival has grown steadily and last year there were more than 25 000 people. Also, this year, we are expecting record breaking number of public.

During the Festival weekend, a group of Finnish super stars will be performing. Among these, well known names: Cheek, JVG, Lauri Tähkä, Olavi Uusivirta, Juha Tapio, Elastinen, Jenni Vartiainen, Kaija Koo and Sanni. The final scene has traditionally been taken by Apulanta. Exceptions in traffic near Festival area

Urheilutie is closed from traffic Wednesday, July 18th at 8.00 and open again on Monday, July 23rd at 20.00. Traffic to property is allowed. Alternative route is Valkoisenlähteentie – Kielotie –Hiekkaharjuntie.

Bus 735 operates during traffic restrictions straight from Valkoisenlähteentie to Kielotie. Bus stops Jokiniemen koulu (V6218), Vesijohdontie (V6207 ja 6208), Talkootie (V6006, Vehkatie (V6017), Ailakkitie (V6003 ja V6004) and Suopursuntie (V6001) will not be in use. Exceptional route includes bus stops Jokiniemen koulu (V6222 ja V6227) and Tikkurilan lukio (V6231).

From Valkoisenlähteentie to Vehnätie only traffic to property is allowed. Vesijohdontie is completely closed, excluding vehicles with spefic permissions.

More trains in traffic

On Friday, July 20th and Saturday, July 21st, extra I-trains will run. These trains depart from Helsinki at 00.36 and 01.06 and will arrive to Hiekkaharju at 00.56 and 01.26.

Fireworks on both nights

For noise reduction, loud speakers will be directed away from residential area. There will be sound system testing occasionally July 19th at 16-22, 20th at 10-14 and 21st at 10–14.

Concerts take place July 20th at 14–01 and 21st at 14–01.

Tikkurila Festival will organize fireworks both on Friday and Saturday at 00.50.
