Application for schoolchildren’s after-school clubs in April

The application period for the 2019-2020 school year is on April 1 - 30, 2019. Morning and afternoon activities are meant for students in grades 1 and 2, as well as for older children who need special support.

After-school activities for the intellectually disabled will be arranged on school days. In addition, all schools offer free-of-charge club activities throughout the school year.

Apply for after-school clubs online through the Wilma system. In January, guardians were mailed a notification of compulsory education including a student-specific keycode for creating a Wilma user ID for one guardian. You can also apply on a form that you can print on the city’s website.

Vantaa has 55 Finnish- or Swedish-language afterschool clubs with around 2 500 children attending them. After-school club activities are subject to a charge and arranged on school days throughout the school year. The city oversees the activities, but in practice, organizations, associations, congregations and private service providers arrange them. The clubs mainly operate on schools’ and congregations’ premises.

The decision on a place at an after-school club will published in electronic format on Wilma on Monday, June 3, 2019. Those who have chosen the paper decision will receive it by mail in the second week of June.
