Dogs and outdoor activities
Vantaa has 25 dog parks around the city and one dog beach. Vantaa also has three ski tracks for cross-country skiing with a dog. The ski tracks are located in Hakunila, Ruskeasanta and Petikko.
Dogs should be kept on a leash in built-up areas
Please remember that dogs must be kept on a leash in urban and other built-up areas. A built-up area is a residential area indicated by a road sign. Even on jogging tracks, pets are only allowed if they are on a leash. Dog and cat owners must ensure that pets do not enter public beaches or ski tracks, children's playgrounds, sports grounds or market places during opening hours.
Please clean up after your dog!
The dog's owner must ensure that dog droppings are not left in the environment in maintained areas. Maintained areas include areas where the lawn has been mown, or where flowers or other plants have been planted, or where the streets are paved. Failure to comply with the law may result in fines.
