Postal voting from abroad
In parliamentary elections, voters living abroad can order postal voting documents from January onwards. Postal voting begins on 2 March 2023.

Voters who live abroad permanently or temporarily for the duration of the elections can vote in national elections by postal voting. Permanent non-residents living abroad are not entitled to vote in regional or municipal elections.
You can order postal voting documents from the Ministry of Justice. Please read the instructions included with the postal voting documents carefully before filling in the voting form. Please note that the form requires the signatures of two witnesses. The witnesses cannot be your next of kin. Return the documents to your municipality's central election committee in accordance with the instructions.
Postal voting documents can be ordered about three months before an election. Voting is possible immediately after the publication of the candidate numbers. Postal votes must be received by the election officials no later than Friday, 31 March 2023 at 19.00 in order to be counted.
