Dismissal or lay-off of staff

We offer advice to employers in situations involving staff reductions. We provide employers and staff who are being dismissed or laid off with information on transition security, unemployment security, job search, procedures with the municipality and other issues related to the situation.

Employer’s transition security

In the event of dismissal, the aim of transition security is to speed up and facilitate the dismissed person’s access to a new job.

The transition security policy includes:

  • paid time off for the dismissed person to look for a new job
  • the employer’s obligation to communicate changes to staff
  • an action plan to promote employment, drawn up by the employer with the employee
  • an employment plan for the dismissed person, which is drawn up with the employment services
