Water can be used as usual in the buildings in Petikko, Vantaa

The health authority has discontinued its recommendation to boil water. All water samples are clean, and water can again be used normally.

We kindly ask you to check whether the water coming from taps is clear and has no strong chloride smell. If tap water is murky, has strange colouring or smells odd, let the water run until it is clear again. If you let the water run for some ten minutes and no improvement is seen in the water quality, please contact the maintenance company or property manager or HSY’s Technical emergency duty for Water Services 09 1561 3000.

Although tap water might be clear we still strongly advise you to let it run from every tap and other type of water connection (e.g. washing machines) for 2 minutes before using it.

If you suspect that you are suffering from stomachache due to drinking water, contact your health station to assess the need for treatment. 

If the supply water outage lasts longer than 12 hours, the customer will be reimbursed in accordance with the Water Management Act and HSY’s general terms of delivery of water services. A serious quality defect in supply water, due to which the health protection authority has issued a boil water advisory, is considered equal to an outage.

An outage longer than 12 hours and a comparable quality defect will be taken into account in the property’s water bill at a later stage, so there is no need to submit a separate application to HSY.

If the deviation of the water quality has caused personal injuries or material damages, compensation must be separately applied for in writing. The application for compensation should be sent to the address: HSY:n kirjaamo, PL 100, 00066 HSY or send an email to the address: kirjaamo(at)hsy.fi. For housing companies, we recommend preparing the application collectively via the property manager.
