The biggest event of the year is the national ARMAS Festival, which will take place in October. The two-week festival offers a wide range of cultural experiences to local elderly people and seniors. The festival programme encourages seniors to explore the diverse cultural services and activities of Vantaa. Festival activities are held in cultural facilities, museums, residential homes, nursing homes and outdoors. The majority of the activities are provided free of charge.

Several music, theatre, puppet theatre and dance performances are produced annually for the residents of nursing homes. In addition, five nursing homes display changing art exhibitions.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the residents of nursing homes have been delighted with outdoor choir and dance performances. In the exhibition collaboration organised in cooperation with the Vantaa Artists Association, the exhibitions of five artists are circulated in six nursing homes every year. The exhibitions stay in one place for approximately three months and the nursing home residents have the opportunity to meet each artist.

You can go to the theatre, concerts, museums or exhibitions for free or at a discount with an art and culture companion. You can request an art and culture companion for yourself, someone you know or a group.
