Who deserves the Vantaa Culture Prize - nominate your favourite by 16 July

In 2022, Jean Ramsay and Petra Piitulainen-Ramsay (Laila Pullinen Sculpture Park and Home Museum) were awarded the Outstanding Cultural Achievement Award, and Riikka Mustakallio the Outstanding Artistic Achievement Award.

Cultural prizes worth 10,000 euros

For over 40 years, the City of Vantaa has been awarding prizes to recognise outstanding achievements in art, culture, and the artistic life of the city.

The Cultural Prize for Professional Artists is awarded to a permanent resident of Vantaa who has demonstrated artistic talent.

The laureate enlivens the artistic scene in Vantaa

The Culture Prize for an outstanding cultural achievement that enlivens the artistic scene in the city is awarded to a community or person active in the city.

The prize is awarded on the basis of particularly impressive merits. It may also happen, that if no suitable person can be found, the prize is not awarded.

The prize is not awarded to previous recipients of the Vantaa Culture Prize or to employees of the City of Vantaa. 

Nominations no later than 16 July by email

The Vantaa Culture Prize is not open for applications, but the decision to award the prizes is made by the Vantaa City Council on the proposal of the City's Culture and Welfare Committee.

However, the Department of Culture and Library Services is happy to receive suggestions for people and organisations in Vantaa whose efforts in their own field of art or in Vantaa's cultural life deserve to be recognised.

The cultural prizes will be awarded at the Vantaa Cultural Gala, which will be held at the Martinus Cultural Centre on 1 November 2023 (Martinlaaksontie 36).
