The first free hour of on-street parking will be discontinued
NewsAs of October, parking at Vantaa’s paid on-street parking spaces will be subject to a fee from the very first hour.

Construction of the New Bridge over Porvoo Highway Progresses in Länsimäki – Night Work in Weeks 40–41
NewsConstruction of the Vantaa light rail is progressing in Länsimäki, along Länsimäentie and in the area surrounding the bridge over Porvoo Highway. Over the coming weeks, changes will be made to traffic arrangements, and structures for the new bridge will be installed at the construction site.

Rare Structural Jacking Operation Beneath Dixi: The Building Was Used as a Counterweight
NewsAn exceptional construction phase is currently underway beneath Dixi. The load of the Dixi building is being transferred to new piles to make way for the future concrete tunnel. The work uses a jacking method in which the building’s own weight is used to secure the new structures.

The Vantaa light rail worksite expands to the Silvastintie intersection
NewsConstruction of the Vantaa light rail began on Osuustie in the spring. So far, the worksite on Osuustie has been located between Virkatie and Antaksentie. According to current plans, it will expand to the Silvastintie intersection during the week starting 5 October.

Piling work causing particularly loud noise will begin on Kyytitie between Kaskelantie and Lahti Road on Thursday, 1 October.
NewsPiling work will be carried out on Kyytitie, in the area between Kaskelantie and Lahti Road, starting on Thursday, 1 October 2026. The piling work is estimated to continue for approximately three weeks.

Construction of the Annefred light rail bridge begins – traffic arrangements also on Tuusulanväylä
NewsConstruction of the Vantaa light rail began on Tikkurilantie last Autumn. The construction site will now expand westwards, and we will begin building the Annefred light rail bridge over Tuusulanväylä on Tikkurilantie. According to the current plan, preparatory work will begin in October.

Repair work at Hakunila Swimming Hall and the Vetokannas winter swimming place, Korso Swimming Hall to close next spring
NewsThe Vetokannas winter swimming place and Hakunila Swimming Hall’s teaching pool will be renovated during the fall. Korso Swimming Hall will close at the end of March 2027.
