Christmas market’s program

Opening morning on December 6, 2025 

9:00 The City of Vantaa’s Independence Day celebration 

The traditional Independence Day ceremony in front of Vantaa City Hall in Tikkurila.
Mayor Pekka Timonen will deliver a speech, and music will be provided by the Vantaa Music Institute's wind orchestra Vamos. The orchestra will perform instrumental versions of the Flag Fanfare and the March of the Pori Regiment, and accompany the communal singing of the Flag Song and the national anthem "Maamme." The flag-raising duty will be carried out by the Timanttipartio scout troop from Kivistö. Free admission.

• The Lucia procession in Vantaa will arrive to sing at the Christmas market on St. Lucia’s Day. A choir of about 30 members will perform Christmas music in Swedish together with Lucia. The singers in the procession are students from the Swedish-language program of Vantaa Music Institute. The choir is conducted by Hanna Mannerström.
