The Urban Culture and Wellbeing committee annually awards grants to youth activities.

Youth grants are meant for arranging leisure time activities for Vantaa children and the young. The activities must promote some of the following:

  • supporting young people’s active citizenship
  • social strengthening
  • supporting independence
  • promoting abstinence from intoxicants.

The activities must be targeted at under-29-year-olds, and the focus must be on activities meant for 7 - 17-year-olds.

Types of grants

Youth grants are divided into the following types. You will get additional information by clicking the name of the grant in question. The grants are applied for through the city’s online transacting service.

Operating grants for youth activities    

Operating grants can be awarded, upon consideration, to an organization’s basic activities that meet the following criteria:

  • The organization has been operating for at least one year.
  • The organization works with the young and/or pre-teens.
  • The organization is situated in Vantaa.    

The operating grant application and account of spending the grant will be annually delivered to the online transacting service by April 1.  

Project assistance for youth activities  

Project assistance can be awarded, upon consideration, for the following purposes:

  • a project targeted at activities for children or the young
  • a project
  • implementing a camp, event or occasion, or participating in one
  • testing new approaches
  • activities arranged and executed by the young that support their own participation and influencing.  

Applications for project assistance must be submitted at the latest 21 days before the beginning of the operations to be supported.
