Heureka, the Finnish Science Centre

The Science Restaurant features scientific facts, strange combinations of flavours and colours, and especially delicious new taste sensations. How about trying insects, purple carrots, blue pudding or bubbling cocoa? Or maybe you would like to put together your own dish or drink, or marvel at the smoking salmon on your plate? You could see if a black burger really tastes like its been burnt, or try a green waffle.

The menu includes delicious sandwiches, fresh salads, sweet pastries and a variety of drinks. The Science Snack menu includes burgers, chicken nuggets, meatballs and a variety of salads. Vegan options are available and the Science Restaurant can cater for special dietary requirements with advanced request.

Public transportation

It is very easy to reach Heurka by taking the local trains from Helsinki-Vantaa airport or Helsinki Central Railway Station. From the airport take the P-train which runs every 10 to 15 minutes. From the Helsinki Central Railway Station you can take any of the local trains I, P, N, K, R, T, D or Z. Get off at the Tikkurila / Dickursby railway station and follow the signs. Heureka is only about a 500-metre walk away.

You can also take public buses. Use Vantaa’s internal routes to the Tikkurila / Dickursby bus station. If you are coming from downtown Helsinki you can take bus 611.

By bicycle

There are plenty of bike racks located next to the main door.

By car

There are lots of free parking spaces. The address for the parking lot is Kuninkaalantie 5, 01300 Vantaa.

Disabled parking

Parking for the disabled is directly in front of the Heureka building, which you can access via Härkävaljakontie (Helsinki) street.

Accessibility is a key value for Heureka. Disabled parking is available in front of the building via Härkävaljakontie (Helsinki) street. The facilities allow unobstructed access and movement for wheelchairs, including appropriate toilets. For families with young children strollers and a changing room are available. Personal helpers get free admission, while guide and service dogs are welcome.

Heureka is an ideal place to organise a private event, from birthday parties to product launches. The spacious auditorium and meeting rooms can be converted for different sized groups, while meeting packages can meet a variety of needs. The Science Restaurant can even provide catering services.

Entire facility

The entire building can be hired, even outside of regular opening hours. Heureka can host up to 2,400 people.

Virtanen Auditorium

Heureka’s auditorium has 220 seats, AV equipment, connectivity and a giant 7.4 x 3.8 metre screen.

Planetarium

Heureka’s 135-seat Planetarium can be hired for private showings.

Conference rooms

The conference room is suitable for 20-60 persons and can be divided into three smaller rooms. It contains AV equipment and connectivity.
