Apply for The Sidewalk art project on performance art - open call until 6 April
The Urban Culture Center Mosaiikki and The Other Side working group invite the people of Vantaa to participate in an art project on performance art.
The performance art actor The Other Side from Vantaa, in collaboration with the Urban Culture Center Mosaiikki, is implementing the second part of The Sidewalk art project, which involves the audience through performance art. The artworks created in the collaborative project will be showcased in a public exhibition in the fall of 2025.
What is the Sidewalk Project?
Sidewalk is an 8-session workshop on performance art where participants explore the medium, develop their own performance ideas, and bring them to life. Throughout the program, the participants learn about performance as a form of self-expression, experiment with different approaches, and refine their concepts. The final works are documented, edited, and showcased in a public exhibition.
Rooted in collaborative creativity and community engagement, Sidewalk is a space for reimagining the connection between art and life. It’s designed for those without a prior professional background in the arts. By engaging with Vantaa’s urban landscape, participants transform their personal experiences into meaningful performances.
Participation in the project is possible for all people over 18 years of age from Vantaa and those living in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area who have no previous experience in making art and performance art.
Open call for participants until 6 April
The Other Side working group is organizing an open call for participants for The Sidewalk art project, with priority given to residents of Vantaa. The common language used in the art project is English. The call is open until April 6, 2025.

This year, guest lecturers are the respected artists and teachers Roi Vaara (FI), Pancho Lopez (MX), Gustaf Broms (SE) and Leena Kela (FI).
