FUTU4U
Vantaa is involved in the Futures For You project led by Laurea University of Applied Sciences and funded by the Eurepean Union. The goal of the project is to develop methods for promoting democratic skills and democratic participation of young adults. The project started in September 2024 and will end in September 2026.
The FUTU4U project promotes societal inclusiveness and a sense of belonging to one's community and the European Union for young people (aged 18−30), especially those with a migratory background.
FUTU4U empowers young Europeans to build preferred futures for themselves as part of their thriving communities and the European Union.
During Language of Democracy Cafes, the young Europeans are introduced to democratic processes, concepts and language needed to take part in civil society.
Next, the young people cofuture preferable futures during the following Futuring Good Life Workshops. In participatory Futures Workshops, they envision how they wish their future to be for themselves, their communities and for the European Union.
In the end, during the Policies for Good Life, the voices of the young are collated and directed to European Union policymakers.
The project will organize activities in Finland, Ireland, Slovenia, Italy and Belgium. Based on project results, the Consortium will create an open-access guidebook of the developed and validated participatory methods.
