Representatives of different cultures in Vantaa are invited to join the music workshop, which will be organized on May 2–3. The workshop will culminate in a concert on Thursday, May 7 at the Welcome to Vantaa event at Heureka. Admission is free of charge, but registration is required.

Come and learn folk songs from different countries

During the workshop, participants will present folk songs and other music from their own cultures, and everyone will learn to play and sing the songs together. Over the course of the weekend, participants will learn roughly five songs and practice them together for a performance.

About 20 adults from Vantaa can join the workshop, with the requirement that they have prior experience of playing music or singing. The participants do not need to be professional musicians – hobbyists with a passion for learning new things are welcome.

The group will be led by Manu Rosales and Stephanie Kobori, who have experience in leading similar workshops in Helsinki. The workshop will be held in English. In addition, the leaders are able provide guidance to participants in Finnish, Portuguese, German and Spanish. However, music is a universal language, so you shouldn’t miss out on the workshop even if you are not fluent in any of the above languages.
