The summertime opening hours of Vantaa libraries will be reduced 

All Vantaa libraries will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays during the summer  

This also applies to self-service libraries, excluding Mosaiikki library, where self-service will be available on Saturdays at 7:00–18:00 during the summer as well.    

The following libraries are open on weekdays throughout the summer  

Tikkurila and Myyrmäki libraries:  

Mon–Thurs: 8:00–20:00  
Fri: 8:00–16:00  
Mon–Thurs self-service:  8:00–10:00, service hours: 10:00–20:00.   
Fri self-service: 8:00–10:00, service hours: 10:00–16:00.  

Hakunila and Lumo libraries:  

Mon and Thurs: 13:00–20:00.   
Tues, Wed, Fri: 9:00–16:00.  
Tues, Wed, Fri self-service: 9:00–10:00, service hours: 10:00–16:00.  

Koivukylä library:  

Mon and Thurs: 13:00–20:00.  
Tues, Wed and Fri: 9:00–16:00.  

Mosaiikki library:  

Mon–Thurs self-service: 7:00–10:00, service hours: 10:00–20:00.   
Fri self-service: 7:00–10:00, service hours: 10:00–16:00.   
Sat self-service: 7:00–18:00.    

The following libraries are open until Midsummer and closed after Midsummer 

Martinlaakso library is open June 1–18 and closed June 19–August 16.    

• Mon and Thurs: 13:00–20:00.  
• Tues, Wed and Fri: 9:00–16:00.  
• Tues, Wed, Fri self-service: 9:00–10:00, service hours: 10:00–16:00.  

Länsimäki library is open June 1–18 and closed June 19–August 16.  

• Mon, Tues self-service: 7:00–13:00, service hours: 13:00–20:00.   
• Wed, Thurs self-service: 7:00–10:00, service hours: 10:00–16:00, self-service: 16:00–18:00.
• Fri self-service: 7:00–10:00, service hours: 10:00–16:00.    

Pähkinärinne library is open June 1–17 and closed June 18–August 18.  

• Open on Wednesdays and Thursdays 14:00–20:00.   
• Self-service on Thursdays and Fridays 7:00–14:00.    

Bookmobiles

The bookmobiles will run their evening routes until June 28. However, they will not run their evening routes on the day before Midsummer Eve on June 18. The summer break is June 29–August 2. 

Exceptional opening hours during Midsummer 

On Thursday June 18, all Vantaa libraries will close at 16:00.  In addition, self-service will be available in Länsimäki library in the morning at 7:00–10:00, but not in the evening.    

All Vantaa libraries will be closed between June 19–21.

This news item will not be updated with any changes to opening hours. It is recommended to check the opening hours of the libraries on their own pages in the Helmet online library. 

Tips for using the library 

If needed, you can make changes to your reservations in the Helmet online library by logging in to your customer information. To log in, you will need your library card and PIN code. 

Changing the pickup location  

You can change the pickup location or cancel the reservation in the online library if the reservation has not been processed yet and the work is not yet on its way to the library or available for pickup.  

Changes can be made in the Holds and Recalls tab by clicking the Edit link on each reservation. You can edit several reservations at the same time by first selecting the reservations and then the desired action. 

Freezing a reservation  

You can freeze a reservation to temporarily stop the reservation. You cannot freeze a reservation if it is already waiting to be picked up at the library, if it is on the way to you from a different library or if it is on the shelf of some library. If you wish to save the information of a work for a long time, use the Saved Items option.  

Canceling a reservation

Cancel a reservation by checking its box and pressing the Delete Selected button. The reservation will be permanently canceled.
