Fall vacation in Vantaa: art, gymnastics and culture
Vantaa offers diverse activities during the fall vacation from October 12–18.
These activities include art workshops, physical activities and water games for the whole family, music, movies, exhibitions and manor exploration. Most of the activities are free of charge.

The world of art and emotions at Artsi
At Vantaa Art Museum Artsi, you can dive into the world of art and emotions from Tuesday to Thursday, October 13–15 at 13:00–15:00. In the workshop, you can paint your own emotional monsters with watercolors and try out blow painting. At the same time, you can explore the Empathy exhibition—open for its final week—along the emotional monster's exhibition path and visit the Future School to imagine a better and more empathetic future. Admission is free of charge for people of all ages. Children under school age must be accompanied by an adult.
Fall activities and Kekri festivities at Håkansböle
The Håkansböle manor area invites the whole family to join in on fall activities from October 14–17 free of charge. You can play old yard games, embark on an escape game-style fall orienteering adventure, participate in workshops and explore the manor museum and outdoor exhibitions.
On Saturday October 17, the manor will celebrate the Kekri harvest festival with a fall market at 11:00–15:00 and free Ensemble Gamut! concerts at the event stable at 15:30 and 17:00. The evening will culminate with a ghostly lantern tour at 18:00.
New library opening in Jumbo
A new library will open in Jumbo’s Viihdekortteli (“Entertainment Quarter”) during the fall vacation. The opening will be held from October 15 to 18, and at the same time, you will be able to explore the new library.

Color and light shine through in children’s culture
Fall vacation courses are being organized for families and schoolchildren at Vantaa’s children’s cultural centers, on the topics of visual arts, ceramics and music. At Children’s Cultural Center Pyykkitupa in Hakunila, UV light art will be made for a window exhibition that will glow in the dark from October 16 to November 22.
The Valon puutarha (“Garden of Light”) exhibition at Children’s Cultural Center Toteemi will be open on Wednesday and Saturday during the fall vacation. On Saturday, Toteemi and Pessi will celebrate National Grandparents’ Day with performances from the children’s music group Salamanteri, which consists of musicians and an artist.
Physical activities for the whole family on land and in water
On Wednesday, October 14 at 9:00–13:00, you can do gymnastics, play ball games, jump in a bouncy castle and try out adapted physical activities together with the whole family at the Tikkurila Sports Center. The event is aimed at children of daycare and elementary school age. There is an area reserved for children under the age of 3.
Swimming halls will arrange water games that are open to everyone in their teaching pools. You can take part at the price of the swimming hall’s admission ticket. Available equipment includes diving toys, flippers, rubber ducks, swimming boards and pool noodles. The water games are being organized at

- Martinlaakso Swimming Hall on Wednesday October 14, at 14:15–15:30
- Myyrmäki Swimming Hall on Friday October 16, at 13:30–15:00.
Guardians are responsible for their children during the events, and the activities do not include guided swimming instruction.
Public skating sessions at the Tikkurila and Myyrmäki ice rinks
