Multicultural Advisory Board

The Multicultural Advisory Board monitors the living standards of ethnic minorities, the impact of the Finnish immigration and integration policy and the equality of minorities in Vantaa. It gathers together representatives of political groups, immigrants, organisations representing immigrants, and experts to discuss topical issues relating to integration. 

The Multicultural Advisory Board monitors the implementation of the statutory integration programme and the positive special treatment programme and takes initiatives to develop issues concerning immigrants and minorities. 

Svenska kommittén

Svenska kommittén monitors the activities and services of the city and promotes the well-being of Swedish-speaking residents. The committee can comment on matters relating to the Swedish-speaking population in Vantaa. Svenska kommittén interacts with residents, associations, city officials and decision-makers. The committee also aims to promote the participation of residents in the planning of urban services, for example. 

Disability Council

The Disability Council is an influencing body established to secure the participation and influencing opportunities of persons with disabilities within the meaning of section 28 of the Local Government Act. The duties of the Disability Council include promoting the empowerment of persons with disabilities, monitoring the development of disability services and other support activities, and commenting on issues relating to persons with disabilities. In addition, the Council participates in the assessment of the well-being, health, capacity to act and independent performance of persons with disabilities, in cooperation with other operators. The Disability Council has been active in Vantaa since 1979. 

Senior Citizens Council

The Senior Citizens Council is an influencing body established to secure the participation and influencing opportunities of senior citizens within the meaning of section 27 of the Local Government Act. The Senior Citizens Council participates in the assessment of the well-being, health, capacity to act and independent performance of the aging population in cooperation with other operators, promotes the participation of the aging population in the planning, preparation and monitoring of services affecting their living conditions, and prepares its own action plan and annual report. The Council also comments on issues affecting the living conditions of senior citizens and elderly services. 

The Senior Citizens Council has been active in Vantaa since 1999.
