The year 2024 in Vantaa was a celebration! This is how we commemorated our 50th anniversary
In 2024, the City of Vantaa celebrated its 50th anniversary. A video compilation takes you into the atmosphere of the memorable events of the anniversary year.

The video features Lauri Porra's piece Cabins & Hideouts, performed by Vantaan Viihdeorkesteri on 7 September at the concert in Vantaa's Lake Kuusijärvi. The concert was part of the Vantaa 50 anniversary year programme.
The 50th anniversary of Vantaa started in spectacular style on New Year's Eve with an event in front of the City Hall, including the video installation The Story of Vantaa projected on the facade of the City Hall.
The centenary programme included a wide range of events, from concerts to a forest hotel, from sports to the Local Heritage Days and exhibitions. There were also Vantaa50 pastries and free rides on city bikes. The city council made jubilee decisions.
The theme of the year was At Home in Vantaa. On Vantaa Day on 15 May, the love of home was in the air at a celebration concert by stellar artists. The celebrations also included a series of interviews with residents from all over the city.
The closing ceremony of the Vantaa 50 celebrations took place on 31 December in Myyrmäki.
