Käärijä invites people to his mural in Tikkurila: ”Now is a good opportunity to take a selfie with me”
The Käärijä mural in Tikkurila has now been completed. What does Käärijä himself think about his wall painting? Watch the interview on video!
The artist invites everybody in Vantaa to see the mural.
”Now is a good opportunity to take a selfie with me. There it (the painting) is in a bigger scale; come and check it out and take a photo,” says the invitation.
Käärijä describes the Käärijä mural — created by Viv Magia, Juha Lahtinen, and Joonas Koponen — as really cool. The mural along Tikkuraitti, a pedestrian street in central Tikkurila, is big, but “it could have been bigger,” the artist jokes at the media event.
“Have to appreciate the artists”
“I have to appreciate the artists that did this. If there comes another time when a picture of myself must be placed somewhere, I will definitely contact these guys.”
Käärijä says that he loves living in Vantaa.
“It’s nice to be in the hometown. I have my family and friends close to me,” Käärijä, that is, Jere Pöyhönen, says.
“If you have moved elsewhere from Vantaa, move back”
At the end of the video interview, the artist sends greetings to Vantaa residents.
“If you have moved elsewhere from Vantaa, move back. This is the place for you,” Käärijä smiles.
You will find the Käärijä mural in Tikkurila, on Prisma’s sidewall. The mural is the City of Vantaa's homage to the artist.
