Record number of candidates in the youth council election - election to take place on November 6-24.
Young people aged 13-18, living in Vantaa, are eligible to vote in the youth council election in their school or educational institution. In week 47, you can also vote at additional voting points.
Vantaa’s youth council election is arranged on November 6-24. All young people aged 13-18 this year, whose domicile is Vantaa, are eligible to vote. The young who attend school and study in Vantaa can vote on their school’s election day; schools and educational institutions provide more information on the matter. In addition, those eligible to vote can vote during week 47 at the following voting places:
- Nov. 20, at 17:00-19:00, Myyrmäen nuorisotila (Liesitori 1 A)
- Nov. 21–22, at 15:00–18:00, Helsingin keskustakirjasto Oodi (Töölönlahdenkatu 4, Helsinki)
- Nov. 23, at 17:00–19:00, Korson nuorisotila (Urpiaisentie 14)
- Nov. 24, at 17:00–19:00, Tikkurilan nuorisotila (Lummetie 2)
Voting takes place through an electronic voting system; you log in the system with your personal voting ID. Before the election, those eligible to vote have been mailed a letter that includes their personal voting ID as well as information on voting. When required, you can also get a voting ID from your school or educational institution during the voting period (the City of Vantaa schools and educational institutions). Each person eligible to vote gets one voting ID; in other words, everybody has one vote.

Vantaa youth council supervises the interests of the young and addresses issues important to the young. At max. thirty members will be selected for the youth council for 2024-2025.
This year's election has 74 candidates. This time, the number of candidates is clearly higher than in several previous youth council elections. For example, compared to the previous elections, arranged in 2021, the number of candidates increased by more than a quarter.
