Four MEK Community Developers have begun working in Vantaa, bringing together operators in four major regions. The aim of the MEK (Regional Programme of Positive Action) programme is to strengthen local cooperation and thereby the wellbeing of local residents.

Cooperation is being carried out with, for example, city operators, organisations, associations, private operators, religious communities and the Housing Company Club project.

When asked to describe their typical working day, the Community Developers exclaim in unison:

“Oh, there is no such thing! All days are different and full of encounters. In our work, we listen not only to the operators but also to the wishes of ordinary Vantaa residents. We would like to lower this very threshold and encourage people to take action to promote wellbeing in their own neighbourhood.”

Community Developers also support cultural production and are involved in many events, making them possible and bringing organisers together.
