Let’s bring light into darkness together – participate in Tikkurila major region's seasonal lights competition!
Bring some light into the dark season by decorating one window, your balcony or maybe your entire yard with seasonal lights. You may win a prize if you send a photo of your light art by November 30, through the Osallistuva Vantaa (“Committed Vantaa”) survey.
Does your backyard, balcony or windows have the most magnificent seasonal lights in Tikkurila? Will you decorate your classroom this winter with elves, or perhaps, with traditional snowflakes?
Send a photo on the Osallistuva Vantaa (“Committed Vantaa”) website and participate in the seasonal lights or seasonal decorations competition!
All residents in the Tikkurila major region are eligible to participate in the seasonal lights competition, whereas the seasonal decorations competition is meant for the school and daycare center groups in the region.
The Tikkurila major region consists of Tikkurila, Hakkila, Hiekkaharju, Jokiniemi, Koivuhaka, Kuninkaala, Ruskeasanta, Simonkylä, Viertola, and Helsingin pitäjän kirkonkylä (Helsinge Vicarage).
The competition is open from November 1 to November 30, 2024.

The best seasonal lights and decorations will be rewarded
The winners will be chosen by public vote during December. Approximately 20 best works will be chosen for the public vote.
The best three works of light art in the public vote will be rewarded with hotel, restaurant or spa gift vouchers. In addition, everybody participating in the competition will also participate in a lottery of movie tickets.
The grand prize of the seasonal decorations competition is tickets to Heureka for the entire winning daycare center or school group. The second and third winning decorations will be rewarded with sports or handicraft equipment. The groups can choose the handicraft or sports equipment from the selection of the city’s supplier.
Participate also in the communal ball of light workshop
As part of the seasonal lights competition, a free-of-charge communal ball of light workshop will be arranged for residents. The workshop takes place at Tikkurila citizens' house on Thursday, November 14, at 10:00-12:00.

Residents in the Tikkurila major region voted the seasonal lights competition the winner of Vantaa’s participatory budgeting in the spring of 2024.
