Multicultural Affairs Advisory Board
The goal of the Advisory Board on Multicultural Affairs is to make minority voices heard developing Vantaa. The Board promotes inclusion, equality and non-discrimination of residents with migrant backgrounds. The City Government appoints the Advisory Board for a two year term. The new Advisory Board was appointed on 11 August 2025.
Multicultural Affairs Advisory Board 2025-2027
The Multicultural Affairs Advisory Board is an advocacy body appointed by the City Government. Its task is to promote good ethnic relations, and monitor the living conditions and implementation of equality measures of ethnic and linguistic minorities in Vantaa.
In its meetings, the Advisory Board monitors the implementation of the Vantaa Integration Programme and other well-being programmes and participates in their preparation and evaluation. It also monitors the effects of the state's immigration and integration policies in Vantaa.
The Advisory Board does not have formal decision-making power, but it can make statements and initiatives to the City Government on issues concerning migrants and minorities. The members of the Advisory Board also influence through their own supporting communities.
