Other benefits

Recipients of temporary disability pension (rehabilitation subsidy) can get a discount on swimming hall and gym fees. 

To get the discount, please send a copy of your pension decision document to our office. We will send you a voucher that entitles you to a discount on products purchased at the swimming hall. The benefit shall remain valid until the expiry of your rehabilitation subsidy. The benefit does not apply to partial rehabilitation subsidy or similar allowances. We will not save your personal data.

Family carers living in the Vantaa and Kerava wellbeing services county and receiving informal care support are entitled to use Vantaa’s swimming pools and swimming pool gyms free of charge.

In addition, Koivukylä Senior Citizens' Center Gym has a dedicated gym session for family carers. You can participate in the family carers’ gym session even if you do not receive informal care support, as long as your informal care agreement is valid.

Using swimming pools and swimming pools gyms 

At the swimming pool, show the following to the cashier:

• an informal care support payslip no more than two (2) months old 
• photo ID.

The payslip must show:

• your status as a family carer
• Vantaa and Kerava wellbeing services county is marked as the payer
• your municipality of residence is Vantaa.

The cashier will give you a single-use access card.

Using Koivukylä Senior Citizens' Center gym 

In order to use the gym, you need an access card, which you can buy at the swimming pool’s cash register (the price is €5.50).
To download access time on your access card, you need the following:

• an informal care support payslip no more than two (2) months old 
• photo ID.

The payslip must show:

• your status as a family carer
• Vantaa and Kerava wellbeing services county is marked as the payer
• your municipality of residence is Vantaa.

The access card is valid for three (3) months at a time. You can download more access time on your access card at the swimming pool’s cash register in accordance with the above instructions.

Please note that the access card only functions during the swimming pool’s normal opening hours; it will not work during the family carers’ dedicated gym session. 
 

Family carer's gym session 

The gym session is meant for all family carers living in Vantaa and the people they care for (minimum age for gym users is 15).

• Time: Thursdays at 10:30-12:00
• Venue: Koivukylä Senior Citizens' Center Gym (address: Karsikkokuja 13)
• No access card is required.

Session dates

• September 17 - December 10, 2026 (excluding October 15)
• January 14 - April 22, 2027 (excluding February 25)

Please note:

• A sports instructor will unlock the gym and locker room doors at the beginning of each session. Please arrive for your session between 10:45 and 11:00.
• There is no instruction for using the equipment.
• The session is not held on weekday public holidays.
• We reserve the right to verify participants’ eligibility to use the gym through random checks.
• Gym access cards do not work during the workout session.
