Sauna, gym and swimming session for special groups

Accessible sauna facilities make it possible for individuals who, for health-related reasons, cannot use the general changing, washing, and sauna areas. Special group swimming and gym sessions allow participants to exercise outside regular opening hours.

Open sauna sessions for special groups

Open sauna sessions are intended for you if health-related reasons prevent you from using the public sauna facilities at the swimming hall, for example, due to a mobility impairment or other functional limitation.

You can use open sauna sessions for special groups at the Tikkurila and Myyrmäki swimming halls.  Both facilities have a mobile pool lift (maximum 130 kg).

The sauna session are:

  • available to you at the price of the admission fee
  • during ordinary opening hours, no advance reservation required.

You have the following technical aids at your disposal:

  • walker
  • shower wheelchair.

Reservable sauna sessions for special groups

Reservable sauna sessions are intended for you if you need a private sauna due to health-related reasons.  This may be necessary, for example, if your assistant is of a different gender or your condition requires privacy.

You can reserve a private sauna session:

  • On the spot, at the cash register of Tikkurila or Myyrmäki Swimming Hall or by calling the swimming hall
  • at the price of the admission fee
  • you can reserve one session at a time. 

You have the following technical aids at your disposal:  

  • walker
  • shower wheelchair.

Gym sessios for special groups

Gym sessions for special groups are meant for you if health-related reasons make it difficult for you to use the gym during normal opening hours.  These sessions take place before the gym officially opens.  As a general rule, there are no other users present and no instruction is provided.

The sessions are available to:

  • holders of a special group gym card
  • war veterans (KELA card with an R or MR code, or a stamped war veteran ID card).

The gym sessions take place:

  • at the gyms of the Myyrmäki and Tikkurila swimming halls
  • on Sundays at 9:00-10:00 (swimming is available starting at 10:00).

Please note:

  • Arrive between 8:55–9:00. The exterior doors are closed at other times.
  • You can use the swimming hall’s general locker rooms or sauna premises for special groups, which are available in Tikkurila at 9:00-11:00 and in Myyrmäki at 9:00-11:30. The special groups’ sauna premises have a rollator and a shower wheelchair.
  • The sessions will not be organized during the gyms’ annual closures or exceptional opening hours.  The sessions may be canceled.  Be sure to check the gyms’ websites for up-to-date gym hours.

Swimming sessions for special groups

Swimming sessions for special groups are meant for you if health-related reasons make it difficult for you to swim during the swimming hall’s normal opening hours. These sessions take place before the swimming hall officially opens. 
Swimming sessions for special groups take place at Tikkurila and Myyrmäki swimming halls. Both facilities have a mobile pool lift (maximum 130 kg).

The sessions are available to:

  • holders of a special swimming card
  • war veterans (KELA card with an R or MR code, or a stamped war veteran ID card).

The swimming sessions take place:

  • at Myyrmäki and Tikkurila swimming halls
  • on Sundays at 9:00-11:00 (all swim lanes on 9:00-10:00, lane 1 at 10:00-11:00). 

Please note:

  • Arrive between 8:55–9:00. The exterior doors are closed at other times. You may not enter the pool premises before 9:00 o’clock.
  • You can use the swimming hall’s general locker rooms or sauna premises for special groups, which are available in Tikkurila at 9:00-11:00 and in Myyrmäki at 9:00-11:30. The special groups’ sauna premises have a rollator and a shower wheelchair.
  • Other user groups, such as swim clubs, may be present in the pool area at the same time.
  • The sessions will not be organized during the swimming halls’ annual closures or exceptional opening hours. The sessions may be canceled. Be sure to check the swimming halls’ websites for up-to-date gym hours.
    • Exception! When the Myyrmäki swimming hall is closed in summer 2026, the sessions will be held at Martinlaakso swimming hall from 10:00–11:00 The swimming hall opens to other users at 11:00.
