Länsimäki Dog Park Closed 26 Jan–8 Feb 2026
Construction of the Vantaa tramway is progressing along Länsimäkivägen, and in the next phase the construction site will move to the area of the Länsimäki dog park. For this reason, the Länsimäki dog park will be completely closed from 26 January to 8 February 2026.
Update 13.11.2023 Additional provisions on poultry keeping removed - No bird flu detected in Vantaa
No cases of avian influenza have been detected in Vantaa. However, poultry and pet birds should be kept indoors or in a densely netted outdoor enclosure.
Animal welfare
If you suspect that an animal is being treated in violation of the Animal Welfare Act, please contact the animal welfare authorities, which include the city's veterinarians and health inspectors and the police.

Permits for matters under the Environmental Protection Act, Waste Act, Water Act, Section 161 a of the Land Use and Building Act, Land Extraction Act and the environmental protection provisions of the City of Vantaa.
Veterinary clinic
Basic care for small animals is provided by the veterinary clinic of the City of Vantaa. The services are intended for the pets of Vantaa residents only.

Krakanpuisto has two dog pens with agility equipment for both small and large dogs.

Maarinojanpuisto has separate pens for large and small dogs. Both pens have agility equipment.
