Hobby Support for Children and Youth
The hobby support for children and youth is intended for the paid, guided hobbies of 7–17-year-old children and young people from low-income families in Vantaa. The goal of the support is to ensure that all children and young people have equal opportunities to participate in recreational activities
Winter holiday is made of bouncy castles, movies, games and art
In Vantaa schools, the winter holiday week will be held 17–23 February. The city will organise a variety of activities that pupils can attend during their holiday. Here are some highlighted activities to include in your child’s winter holiday programme.
Application for time slots in recreational facilities starts on 1 February 2025 – most indoor sports facilities are now applied for for two seasons at a time
The majority of the indoor sports facilities of the sports services are now applied for for two seasons at a time. The application for other recreational facilities in the city remains unchanged.
New youth center to open in Nikinmäki – activities begin in November
The long-hoped-for youth center will open in connection with Nikinmäki study unit. Events where all the local residents can familiarize themselves with the youth center and its activities will be arranged.
Vantaa to pilot a new approach aiming to prevent juvenile delinquency
Social fieldwork supports the young who are at risk of ending up in a circle of crime. The work is carried out by a multiprofessional team.

The results of the biennial School Health Survey show that sexual harassment of children and young people has become more common. This year, schools, educational institutions and youth centres in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area will address the phenomenon so that children and young people can learn
