Early childhood education in Vantaa organises club activities for children between the ages of 2.5 and 5. Clubs operate everywhere in Vantaa in the connection of residential parks, open day care centres or day care centres.

Club activities are goal-oriented and planned in advance. Each group has its own plan of action. The key focus is on playing with other children and learning to operate together with them. The activities are implemented by moving, singing, playing and doing crafts.

Some of
…the clubs meet in the morning and others in the afternoons, 1-3 times a week. The daily activities last for 2-3 hours depending on the child's age. The clubs follow pre-primary education's operating and holiday schedules. Club activities are free of charge.

Children in home care and receiving home care allowance can also participate in the activities. If a family receives private day care allowance, the child cannot simultaneously participate in the club activities.

Apply to a club

The VaSa service will be updated on Tuesday 7 February 2023 about from 18.00 to 18.30. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.

The application time for the following operating year of the clubs is in April. These applications are processed in May, and the decision regarding your child’s club place will be delivered to you by Midsummer. You can also apply to clubs during the operating year, in which case you will receive a place if the clubs have availability.

You can fill in a club application electronically in the VaSa service. You must log in to the application with the Suomi.fi identification method by using your online banking IDs, mobile certificate or certificate card. You can edit the application after submitting it as well as track its process in the service.

If you cannot complete the application electronically, you can also submit one on paper. You can fill in and print out the form from the website. A filled-in form can be returned to any municipal day care centre or sent to early childhood education services at: Varhaiskasvatus, Kerhohakemus, PL 313, 01030 Vantaan kaupunki.

If you have any questions, you can contact the area’s service counsellor.

Decision on a Place in a Club and Accepting the Place

The decision on a club place will be delivered electronically to you in VaSa service. The decision will be delivered to you on paper only if you have specifically requested for it. The decision will also be saved in the Messages service of Suomi.fi if you have turned it on.

The place in a club must be accepted within 14 days of receiving the information. The place can be accepted in VaSa service or by informing the head of the day care centre of the child’s club place. After accepting the place, the club will contact you and you will receive information on starting the club.
