Early childhood education clubs are meant for 2.5-5-year-old Vantaa children who are in home care. The clubs take place on 1-3 days per week and they last for 2-3 hours per day. Children participate in the clubs without their guardians. Club activities are free of charge. Participating in club activities does not have an impact on paying child home care allowance.

In the early childhood education clubs, your child plays, moves, as well as makes music with the other children. While attending ear
ly childhood education clubs, the children get to do myriad fun things together and learn skills later required in early childhood education and school. Early childhood education professionals supervise the clubs. The activities are based on the early childhood education plan.

The clubs are arranged in different parts of Vantaa in connection with residential parks, open meeting places, and daycare centers. You will apply for a place at an early childhood education club for one year at a time. The clubs begin in August and end in May.

Early childhood education clubs only offers services in Finnish.

The application time for the following operating year of the clubs is in April. These applications are processed in May, and the decision regarding your child’s club place will be delivered to you in June. You can also apply to clubs during the operating year, in which case you will receive a place if the clubs have availability.

You can fill in a club application electronically in the VaSa service. You must log in to the application with the Suomi.fi identification method by using your online banking IDs, mobile certificate or certificate card. You can edit the application after submitting it as well as track its process in the service.

If you cannot complete the application electronically, you can also submit one on paper. You can fill in and print out the form from the website. A filled-in form can be returned to any municipal day care centre or sent to early childhood education services at: Varhaiskasvatus, Kerhohakemus, PL 313, 01030 Vantaan kaupunki.

Decision on a Place in a Club and Accepting the Place

The decision on a club place will be delivered electronically to you in VaSa service. The decision will be delivered to you on paper only if you have specifically requested for it. The decision will also be saved in the Messages service of Suomi.fi if you have turned it on.

The place in a club must be accepted within 14 days of receiving the information. The place can be accepted in VaSa service or by informing the head of the day care centre of the child’s club place. After accepting the place, the club will contact you and you will receive information on starting the club.

You can fill in the application for early childhood education electronically in the VaSa service. Log in the VaSa service through Suomi.fi identification with the help of online
banking identifiers, mobile ID or certificate card.

Information

The VaSa service functions best with the two newest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari browsers. The service cannot be used with an Internet Explorer browser or older versions of the Edge browser.

You can use the VaSa service with your mobile device's browser or with a separately downloaded mobile app. You will find the app, called CGI Vesa, in application stores and use it in Finnish, Swedish and English.
