The operator must also contact the food control authorities if they suspect food poisoning (section 17 of the Food Act 297/2021). The food inspector will provide the operator with more detailed instructions.
If the operator still has the products that may have caused food poisoning, the products must be kept refrigerated for sampling. The products must be frozen if they have to be stored for more than 24 hours (e.g. over the weekend).
In the event of a suspected food poisoning, the inspector w…ill investigate the need for testing of food samples.
