Playgrounds

Playgrounds are play areas for children.

Introduction

Playgrounds are important both as children's play areas and as meeting places for residents. Vantaa continuously invests in improving the comfort and maintenance of playgrounds. Vantaa currently has 150 playgrounds.

In addition to the location, the needs of users of different ages as well as safe and diverse possibilities for various activities are considered when planning new playgrounds.

As the condition of the equipment affects the safety of children, the maintenance staff monitors the cond
ition and safety of the playground equipment during each maintenance visit.

The safety of playground equipment is checked at least every three months, i.e. four times a year. Any deficiencies identified during the maintenance visits and inspections will be addressed as soon as possible.

Please note that there is no winter maintenance in the playgrounds, and winter conditions may cause safety deficiencies in the playground. You can also use the playgrounds for outdoor activities and playing during winter, but snow and ice can make the surfaces of the play equipment and safety mats slippery or hard.
