The City of Vantaa to receive the UNICEF Child Friendly Cities recognition
Finnish Committee for UNICEF grants the City of Vantaa the Child Friendly Cities recognition. “In two years, Vantaa has succeeded in making permanent changes in the city’s operations, as well as significant changes for children and the young,” UNICEF acknowledges.
Early childhood education decisions made earlier have been resent to customer families due to system malfunction
Early childhood education's VaSa system (CgiVesa) was updated on Monday, January 8, 2024. Because of an error in the update, some of the customers will receive by mail old early childhood education’s place or scope decisions that are related to, for instance, year 2022.
Vantaa School League has been launched – don’t miss the basketball tournament on 13 January 2024
The Vantaa School League, launched last autumn, includes 230 third graders from across the city. In January, the teams will compete in basketball.
Urban Culture Centre Mosaiikki
Mosaiikki is a new meeting place for all Kivistö residents. The city library, youth centre and multi-purpose spaces can all be found under the same roof. Mosaiikki is a platform for culture, events and independent activities.

Music class teaches both music and performance – and makes studying fun!
In Vantaa, pupils can study in a music class starting from the third grade. They do not need to own an instrument or have previous playing or singing experience – it is enough to be interested in music. The music class application period is from 20 November to 8 December 2023.
The results of the school health survey indicate that—despite challenges—the majority of children and the young in Vantaa feel good
According to the National Institute for Health and Welfare's (THL) school health survey, the majority of Vantaa children and the young are satisfied with their lives and like school attendance. The results were published in September 2023.
