Services in Myyrmäki in the future 

The aim of the Myyrmäki’s urban culture house project is to build a hub of urban culture services in the centre of Myyrmäki between 2024 and 2031.

First, the Myyrmäki educational centre will be completed on the Monttu plot (as known among the locals). Then, Paalutori Square will be renovated and, finally, the new urban culture house will be built in place of the current Myyrmäkitalo building. The current Myyrmäkitalo building will be demolished or renovated and extended.

The Myyrmäki educational centre will offer facilities for recreation and leisure, while the urban culture house will host the art museum and library as an extended complex. These two new buildings will be connected by Paalutori Square, which will serve city residents as an outdoor event venue.

Participate and influence 

Resident interaction will be an important part of the project from the beginning. Residents can have their say in an online brainstorming session organised in cooperation with Fountain Park. The session will allow residents to participate anonymously in planning the three-phase flagship project. It will help to identify what the participants are mostly interested in and find important, as well as any brilliant ideas.

The participants can share their ideas and assess the significance of other participants’ opinions from the point of view of Myyrmäki’s attractiveness, making it possible to participate even if you do not have any original ideas in mind at the time.
