City Executive Board

At its meeting on 7 September, the City Board of Vantaa decided to close the Vantaa-info service point in Korso from 1 October onwards. The Board also discussed two of the city's strategic programmes: the Environmental Programme and the Integration Programme.

The City Board decided to discontinue the Vantaa-info service point in Korso. In the future, advice and digital support in the Korso area will be provided as a mobile service in connection with other city services. Vantaa-info services will also remain available by phone, email and chat, and the city’s permanent customer service points will continue to operate as part of the service network.

Advice and digital support will therefore continue to be available in the Korso area through a mobile service provided alongside other municipal services.

The closure is due to changing service needs. The need for fixed customer service locations and cash services is decreasing as the services of the city and other public organisations become increasingly digital. A large share of Vantaa-info customer service has already moved, or is in the process of moving, to remote channels.

In recent years, the Vantaa-info service point in Korso has served approximately 4,200 to 4,500 customers annually. At the same time, customer volumes at other Vantaa-info locations have been several times higher. Both the Myyrmäki and Tikkurila Vantaa-info service points receive more than 50,000 customers per year. Korso accounts for approximately 3–4% of the total customer volume of Vantaa-info services.

Integration Programme and Environmental Programme Proceed to the City Council

The City Board decided to propose that the City Council approve Vantaa’s Integration Programme and Environmental Programme for 2026–2029.

The Integration Programme aims to strengthen the language skills, competencies and employment opportunities of residents with a foreign language background, promote positive community relations and inclusion, and further develop Vantaa as an international and welcoming city.

The Environmental Programme guides Vantaa towards a low-carbon, nature-positive city that is prepared for climate-related risks. Its key focus areas are a low-carbon circular economy city, a nature-positive city, a climate-resilient city and an environmentally responsible city.

Progress in implementing both programmes will be reported annually to the City Council.
