Environmental health notifications

You can report activities under the Food Act and Health Protection Act primarily through the online Ilppa service or in the Oma Vantaa service. A public event notification must be made using a PDF form.

Please use the Finnish Food Authority’s online Ilppa service to file the environmental health notification. You can also use electronic forms available on Oma Vantaa, and some notifications can be made with printed forms.

Please use the Finnish Food Authority’s online Ilppa service to file the environmental health notification. For instructions and information on how to make a notification, please visit the Ilppa service’s Help page (in Finnish or Swedish). The information will be transferred electronically from Ilppa to the Environmental Health Services for processing.

Before filing a notification, you will need a Suomi.fi e-authorisation. More detailed instructions are available on the Finnish Food Authority’s website. A private trader or a person entitled to sign for the company, i.e. an official representative of the company, can log in directly to the Ilppa service with the Suomi.fi identification.

The following notifications cannot be filed in Ilppa

The following notifications cannot be filed in the Ilppa service: an establishment supplying water intended for human consumption, a shared water intake building or water reservoir (for the needs of at least 50 people or at least 10 m³ / day). A PDF form must be printed for the above purposes.

A public event notification and a notification of the water arrangements at a public event can only be made using printed PDF forms.

Currently, food business operations requiring approval or primary food production cannot be notified through the Ilppa service. Please contact the Environmental Health Services in these matters.
