Construction begins at the southern end of Hakunilantie
The preparatory works for the Vantaa Light Rail will begin at the southern end of Hakunilantie during week 20. This phase starts with changes to the traffic arrangements and the delineation of work areas. These arrangements will affect pedestrian and cycling routes.

Contract signed for the second partial order of the Vantaa Light Rail project
The alliance partners of the Vantaa Light Rail project signed the contract for the second partial order on May 7, 2026. The contract covers the remaining section of the rail line to be built in Vantaa, from the Finnish Aviation Museum to Länsimäentie, as well as water resources management work
The Hepopolku bus stop on Hakunilantie will be temporarily relocated starting 7.5.

Changes to traffic arrangements on Hakunilantie between Raudikkokuja and Hevoshaantie – temporary bus stops in use
Traffic arrangements on Hakunilantie will change during week 19. Construction work will move to the eastern side of the street, and pedestrian and cycling routes will be partly redirected back to the western side. These arrangements will not affect motor vehicle traffic. The Raudikkopolku bus stops
Rajatie will be closed to motor vehicle traffic starting 11.5.
Motor vehicle traffic on Rajatie will be cut off over a distance of approximately 40 metres east of the Rajapolku intersection in order to prevent through traffic. The closed section of the street will be converted into a route for pedestrians and cyclists.
Work phases causing significant noise will begin on Kyytitie from May 2026
Construction of the Vantaa tramway is progressing, and in May, work phases causing significant noise will begin in new areas along Kyytitie. Noisy work will be carried out on weekdays from 7:00 to 18:00.

Respond to the survey on tram communication by 12 May
The City of Vantaa wants to hear the experiences of residents in Tikkurila and Hakunila regarding communication about the tram project. The aim is to further improve tram-related communication and ensure that information reaches all residents in the area.
Construction begins on Tilustie and the new tram street connection on Rivieranraitio
Construction work on Tilustie and Rivieranraitio will begin in week 16. As preparatory work, topsoil will be removed and surcharge embankments will be constructed to strengthen the ground. The first phase of construction will not cause any changes to traffic arrangements.
