The additional meeting of the City Executive Board discussed Vantaa’s economy and the light rail project

The Vantaa City Executive Board assembled for an additional meeting on May 26. In the meeting, the City Executive Board decided after voting to submit the mayor’s report on the economic situation of Vantaa and the Vantaa light rail project to the City Council for approval.

The report was approved after a vote (10 votes to 5) and two protocol statements were submitted. The City Council will assemble tomorrow on Tuesday, May 27 to handle the mayor’s report.

The City Executive Board’s additional meeting was organized on the grounds of a letter submitted to the City of Vantaa Registry on May 20, which was signed by 23 city councilors and requested the organization of an additional council meeting regarding the current economic situation of the City of Vantaa and the costs of the Vantaa light rail project. According to the Local Government Act, the council must be assembled if at least one quarter of the city councilors request to do so regarding a matter they have specified. Such a matter must be prepared urgently.
